Okay, so Yuji Horii just can’t keep things under wraps—bless his heart. Seriously, the guy seems like the kind who’d spill the beans at a surprise party. Anyway, he might’ve accidentally hinted at a Chrono Trigger remake, which got people buzzing. This happened at a comic convention in Napoli, Italy. Picture this: Horii’s on stage, talking about the classic RPG, and suddenly drops a hint about a remake. The host asks for more details, and Horii, well, does that “oops” thing and covers his mouth. The translator jumps in with a cheeky, “You heard nothing,” and the crowd just eats it up.
Thinking back, Horii’s not new to spilling secrets. Back in July 2015—oh man, he was on a roll! Told everyone about the 3DS versions of Dragon Quest VII and VIII coming out for us even though it had already been ages in Japan. And then, out of nowhere, he casually mentions that Dragon Quest XI is gonna be on the NX, which, by the way, was what everyone called the Switch before it got its real name. Imagine, that was just the PS4 and 3DS announcement! Not even sure if he planned to drop that one.
Oh, and then we’ve got Square Enix hyping up Chrono Trigger’s 30th anniversary on March 11 without saying much. Like, they’re teasing something big, but who knows? Maybe Horii just jumped the gun. Or maybe not. Who can tell with these things? But hey, if there’s more Chrono Trigger coming our way, I’m all ears!
