Over the past year, we’ve been thrilled to witness the rise in player support and engagement for the Xbox app on Windows PC. Today, we’re excited to announce that the new Home experience, which we’ve been testing with Xbox Insiders, is now available for all players on the Xbox app for Windows PC. This update makes it quicker and more convenient to locate your beloved games and uncover fantastic new ones to try out.
The Home section now prominently features content updates, helping players keep up with the latest game releases, events, Game Pass additions, sales, and much more. Additionally, it offers curated collections, personalized recommendations, and enticing deals. One standout feature is "Jump Back In," which allows players using Compact Mode to seamlessly dive back into their games right from the hub with just a click on the game card.
While a lot of users have been leveraging the app to discover and launch great titles from Game Pass, the Xbox app is increasingly becoming a fantastic platform for finding exciting Xbox games not included in Game Pass.
Earlier this summer, we partnered with various creators to bring all PC games with Xbox features into the Xbox app. We’re eagerly anticipating the arrival of new Xbox games on Windows PC and are thrilled to welcome nearly 400 titles that were previously not accessible or purchasable via the Xbox app.
Among these new additions, you’ll find a wealth of games from esteemed Japanese studios like Kemco and Kairosoft. Notable titles also include Shovel Knight Treasure Trove by Yacht Club, The Jackbox Party Pack, and The Invincible by Double 11, among countless others.
Furthermore, over 100 of these newly added games support Xbox Play Anywhere. This means if you purchase a game on the Xbox console, you also get to enjoy it on your PC, and vice versa. Players are excited about universal Xbox ownership, cloud-saving capabilities, and cross-play options between Xbox versions on consoles and PCs, as well as other platforms, depending on the developers’ preferences.
With the expanding category of Windows handheld gaming, developers now have a unique opportunity to reach both current and future players, allowing individuals the flexibility to play their favorite games with their friends, wherever they may be.
