ASRock is making waves with sneak peeks of their yet-to-launch Radeon RX 9070 series graphics cards, showcasing some intriguing models under the Steel Legend and Taichi names.
ASRock seems ready to make a statement with their lineup of AMD’s RDNA 4 GPUs, focusing primarily on the Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT. Although we’re still waiting for other AIB partners to drop their official images, early online leaks have revealed ASRock’s upcoming trio: the Steel Legend, Taichi, and Challenger models. Among these, the Taichi series seems to steal the spotlight as ASRock’s premium offering. Sporting a sophisticated triple-fan arrangement and a hefty heatsink, it’s designed as a three-slot card to accommodate all that power.
The Taichi model has piqued curiosity, especially with its inclusion of a 12V-2×6 power connector. This isn’t a standard feature across all models, as AMD allows AIB partners some flexibility based on specific power needs. This connector can handle up to 600W of power, indicating that the Taichi variant is likely to be a powerhouse, particularly appealing for those interested in pushing its limits with overclocking.
Moving on to the Steel Legend variant, this model is ASRock’s play in the mid-range arena. It boasts a stylish look with its white and silver color options and incorporates a 2.5-slot, triple-fan design. Unlike the Taichi, the Steel Legend sticks with a dual 8-pin connector, which aligns with the standard equipment for most of AMD’s AIB cards, excluding high-end options like the Taichi.
As for when we can expect to see these models hitting the shelves, it looks like we won’t be waiting much longer. Rumor has it, AMD is aiming to kick off pre-orders for the RX 9070 series sometime next week, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see these GPUs up for grabs then.
