The episode takes a deep dive into the repercussions following her presumed demise, creating an engaging narrative thread that fans are eager to unravel. Additionally, Destiny 2 introduces The Nether activity, which blends roguelike elements into gameplay. While the “health as currency” concept wasn’t everyone’s cup of tea, it still opens up avenues for Bungie to refine this feature in future updates. The introduction of the Court of Blades offers a refreshing experience where players face formidable foes in succession, but it also highlights significant loot issues within the game.
Looking ahead, Destiny 2’s upcoming Frontiers update is set to revamp several aspects like the armor system. It’s morphing into a model defined by smaller, intermittent releases rather than annual expansions. However, one of the most glaring concerns within the gaming community remains the loot system. As it stands, weapon crafting seems to be fading away, yet the universe of Destiny 2 frequently doesn’t provide adequate rewards for players’ invested time. The Court of Blades is a testament to this, illustrating the broader issues with the loot system.
Taking a closer look at Court of Blades, it initially promises an exhilarating ride, focusing on obliterating waves of enemies and bosses, all while earning temporary boosts and presumably fruitful loot. The finer rewards are seemingly tied to defeating numerous bosses, with the best goodies dangled in front of those who tackle the Expert mode. This mode is not only trickier but also demands a greater time investment compared to its normal counterpart.
The catch comes with the allure of “shiny” Heresy seasonal weapons, which are highly sought after. These weapons offer enhanced double perks alongside an Origin Trait borrowed from the King’s Fall Raid, thus making them even more desirable. In theory, chasing down the best Adept weapons here is tempting, given their superior attributes and access to special mods. However, when diving deeper, Expert mode doesn’t even guarantee players these Adept weapons, although they’ve hunkered down and conquered all bosses on this strenuous level.
This loot challenge isn’t new to Destiny 2 and has frustrated Guardians for quite a while. The current scenario in Court of Blades amplifies the discontent among players who hope for guaranteed rewards after completing formidable tasks. Past expectations that Bungie might tweak game modes like The Nether to at least assure one Adept weapon on the expert level have not been met, making the effort to tackle Court of Blades in Expert mode hard to justify.
The journey to secure Adept god rolls in the Court of Blades is another tough nut to crack. It hinges heavily on the elusive favor of RNG. Apart from getting an Adept weapon to drop, players then need the stars to align for the perfect weapon and perk combination. Given the choice between pouring hours into the Expert mode with slim chances of success or completing several Normal runs, many find themselves swinging towards the latter. Although Adept weapons are a prized possession in Destiny 2, their farming under the current conditions doesn’t entice many players to take on the Expert grind. With all these dynamics at play, it’s a pressing issue that the incoming Frontiers update should aim to solve efficiently.
