In the world of “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” players are invited to explore the vast and enchanting provinces of central Japan, spending countless hours immersed in its breathtaking landscape. Thankfully, the latest update has revitalized the gameplay experience with a familiar feature designed to make those lengthy journeys through Japan’s picturesque countryside more relaxing.
As of Tuesday morning, version 1.0.2 has been rolled out on all gaming platforms, introducing a reworked “pathfinder” feature for your trusty mount. Now, your horse will automatically stick to the roads and follow the built-in navigation seamlessly, guiding characters Naoe or Yasuke to their destinations. This handy feature should ring a bell for longtime fans, as it was a staple in earlier entries like “Origins,” “Odyssey,” and “Valhalla,” making its absence in “Shadows” initially surprising. While auto-follow is set as the default, rest assured you can still opt to take the reins into your own hands whenever the mood strikes.
Alongside this, the update also enhances the photo mode by ensuring that the pathfinder’s GPS line no longer clutters your perfect screenshots. Additionally, horse speeds get a boost when trotting through bustling cities, allowing for a more dynamic pace.
Another notable improvement that fans will likely cheer is the new feature for managing your loot. You can now sell or dismantle multiple items simultaneously, streamlining your interactions with the shop or Forge. As you step out of the Forge, you’ll notice some visual enhancements too, with Ubisoft Québec removing the 30 frames per second cap in the Hideout, which means smoother graphics. For those gaming on a PlayStation 5 Pro, the patch brings in Sony’s Spectral Super Resolution, enhancing the visual experience even further.
The update doesn’t stop there. Players can now reset specific Mastery nodes individually within Naoe’s and Yasuke’s skill trees. Although the game previously allowed for resetting an entire category, such as Tools or Shinobi, this new option provides more precision for your strategy tweaks. Furthermore, navigating the menus just became faster with a newly added shortcut: simply hold the Options/Menu button to jump directly to the objectives board’s sleek interface.
However, one element left untouched by this update is the legendary tanto, the Igan Sunset. Its incredibly powerful perk remains as potent as ever, enabling players like our own Tyler Colp to effortlessly chain attacks across multiple foes.
