Fortnite, huh? So, there’s this buzz that the whole “Save the World” thing might finally hit Nintendo Switch 2. Yep, you read that right. Apparently, some game code hints at it. Honestly, it’s kinda wild that it never made it to the first Switch. Like, what’s up with that? Optimization issues? Lack of love from Epic Games? I mean, fans have been crossing fingers for ages.
Backtrack a bit. Fortnite landed on Switch way back in 2018. But, man, starting out was rough. You couldn’t even use your PlayStation account on the Switch thanks to some weird restrictions. Cross-play? Nonexistent. Players had to start from scratch which was a pain, really. Thankfully, Sony woke up and, boom, lifted those bans. Account merging came along in 2019, letting folks finally get their V-Bucks and costumes sorted. But Save the World? Still MIA.
But wait, this nugget of hope — a leak popped up that saw fans getting hyped for Save the World. The famous leaker dude, iFireMonkey, says there’s a thing in the Joy-Cons for Switch 2 related to Fortnite. Yet, hold up, it’s marked disabled for Save the World. Huh? Doesn’t add up, right? Everywhere else with mouse support, you’d expect to see this.
Fans are speculating left and right. Maybe it’ll happen. Or maybe not? Epic’s been all “meh” about Save the World, which has barely seen fresh updates. Maybe it’s why they never brought it to less beefy platforms like the first Switch. Or mobile, even. Who knows why?
Anyway, the real deal is a bunch of folks are just itching for Save the World to drop on a Nintendo console. And if the Switch 2 is the key, then maybe — just maybe — it’s finally time. Not like there hasn’t been enough waiting already, sheesh!
