Zenless Zone Zero Marks Its First Anniversary Again with a New Story Chapter

Man, where do I even start with this? So, Zenless Zone Zero — crazy name, right? — has been having this insane hot streak the past month. Like, four weeks of pure chaos! Why? Because they just dropped their first anniversary event… sort of. It’s all over Xbox now and boom, there’s this massive 2.0 update that everyone’s buzzing about.

Odd thing though, if you ask the hardcore fans (or anyone sorta watching this sci-fi RPG saga unfold), they’d tell you that the real anniversary was gonna be July. Yet nobody’s grumbling about the sudden patch or the fresh twist in the story arc. I mean, who would?

Fast forward to today, July 4th — bam! It’s the actual anniversary day. Surprise, surprise, HoYoverse isn’t holding back. They’re rolling out another big patch. Just one catch — and yeah, here’s the kicker — update 2.1 isn’t dropping today. You gotta hang tight till July 16. Talk about a tease, right?

This new update? They’re calling it The Impending Crash of Waves. Sounds dramatic. New faction entering the scene and two shiny new areas. The Spook Shack, which oddly fits with this watery theme they’re diving into. Then there’s Sailume Bay and Fantasy Resort. Sets the stage for Season 2, Chapter 2. Makes you wonder what’s gonna go down at Sailume Bay while Fantasy Resort is gearing up for its own summer shindig. Who writes this stuff?

Oh, and guess what? New Agents. Because, obviously! Ukinami Yuzuha — picture an S-Rank Physical Support Agent. Got her sidekick, Kama, who, for whatever reason, bombs foes with candy. Like, what? And there’s Alice Thymefield, slicing through foes with her crazy sword skills. She’s got this thing called Blade Etiquette, charges it up, and bam, she’s like a whirlwind of destruction.

Moving on to update 2.1, they’re introducing Miss Esme, a new Bangboo, also S-Rank. Plus, if you’ve been waiting, re-runs of Void Hunter Miyabi and Yanagi are in the lineup. Confused yet?
