Lagiacrus, Underwater Combat, Seregios, and More Coming to Monster Hunter Wilds in Title Update 2

Ugh, where do I even start with this? So, you know how everyone’s buzzing about all these updates to Monster Hunter Wilds? Feels like Capcom’s throwing a party with their Title Update 2. Honestly, it’s not just a sprinkle of changes — it’s a whole buffet.

First off, let’s talk timing. They’re rolling this out early Monday, June 30. Right in the morning. I’m not a morning person, but whatever. They’ll be doing some maintenance, so expect the game to vanish for a bit.

Now, here’s the juicy bit — new monsters! Lagiacrus and Seregios are crashing the party. Remember Lagiacrus? No? Well, it means underwater fights, which is kind of a love-it-or-hate-it thing. And get this, to even think about tackling these beasts, you gotta finish A World Turned Upside Down and hit at least Hunter Rank 31. It’s like they’re saying, “Noobs, back off!” Which is fair, I guess.

Oh, and armor? Yeah, new sets for you and your Palico. Plus, they’re throwing in tougher — they call it Tempered — versions at HR 41. Just when you thought you got somewhere, right?

And what’s this about Uth Duna? An arch-tempered variant coming out as some wild Event and Challenge Quest on July 30. HR 50 to even look at this guy. Basically, gear up or shut up.

On a side note, switching it up with weapons. If you want your weapon to look snazzy without wrecking its stats, now you can. Layer your weapons with stats here and looks there. Artian Weapons get a nod too. You’ll have to beef them up to Rarity 8. It’s grinding, but what’s new?

Moving on — changing handlers (bye Alma, hi Erik?) and calling in a buddy with a Sword & Shield (because who doesn’t need more backup) are on this update’s menu too. Oh, and there’s the Festival of Accord: Flamefete event. Running from July 23-August 6, it’s throwing out themed gear. Hope you like flaming style.

On a kinda awkward note, Wilds isn’t doing so hot lately. Steam numbers are down, and reviews? Overwhelmingly Negative. Yikes. Can this update fix things? Maybe. Or maybe it’s just a patch on a sinking ship. Who knows? But hey, check it out if you’re hopeful. Or bored. Or both.
