You know what the “G” stands for. Don’t ask me why, but there it is. Anyway — wait, no — okay, here we go. This week’s all email, RFN-style, where we’re trying to dig ourselves out of the email avalanche. James is off, so cue the trumpets of celebration or whatever, because Jon’s steering the ship with all the dignity and focus we can collectively muster.
So, Jon’s been on this strange GameStop journey lately. Why? No clue. Maybe it’s the allure of Pro Memberships, which — let’s be honest — sound a lot fancier than they probably are. Then we’re stumbling into past games we all love and pondering what they’d be like if they got all shiny for Switch 2. Because who doesn’t love some nostalgia with a new coat of paint, right?
A break happens (because we all need one), and suddenly we’re deep in the trenches discussing the punishment that is F-Zero GX. Seriously, that game is brutal. Dare I say Nintendo might think of tossing some games on virtual consoles again? Dreaming big here. Oh, and what about doing something new with Princess Peach? Like, give her a game that’s more than just, “Oh no, where’s Mario?”
Somewhere along the lines, there’s a lesson: instead of “Git Gud,” maybe try “Git Gui’d.” Like, actually learn the tracks, don’t just pretend. Yeah, life’s hard, yada yada, but do better, right?
Guillaume Veillette’s magic touch on editing does wonders here. If you’ve ever vibed to the “Men of Leisure” theme, shoutout to Perry Burkum. Check out more on his SoundCloud, seriously, it’s worth it. And props to Connor Strickland for the snazzy logo. He’s doing cool stuff on his site, go take a peek.
Wrapping things up with “Birdman” from Pilotwings 64 — Greg picked it, and let’s be real, he’s got taste. Nintendo, in case you’re listening, all rights are yours.
