NVIDIA has rolled out yet another hotfix aimed at tackling the pesky display problems and a newly discovered GPU temperature glitch in their GeForce drivers.
### NVIDIA’s Ongoing Efforts to Tackle Display and Temperature Glitches
It’s rare to see this many hotfixes for a single driver, yet here we are. NVIDIA seems to be wrestling with software support for its RTX 50 series GPUs. Honestly, I’ve lost track of how many updates they’ve released, but the latest hotfix, version 576.15, targets a host of issues. Most notably, it addresses the display crashes introduced with the previously released v576.02 driver and fixes a temperature sensor bug that was affecting GPU voltages and clock speeds.
Here’s what the hotfix tackles:
– [RTX 50 series] After updating to GRD 576.02, some games were showing shadow flickering or corruption. [5231537]
– Lumion 2024 experienced crashes on GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards when entering render mode. [5232345]
– GPU monitoring tools would sometimes stop reporting temperature data after waking the PC from sleep. [5231307]
– [RTX 50 series] Shader compilation caused some games to crash post-update to GRD 576.02. [5230492]
– [GeForce RTX 50 series notebook] Waking from Modern Standby occasionally resulted in a black screen. [5204385]
– [RTX 50 series] SteamVR displayed random V-SYNC micro-stutters when using multiple screens. [5152246]
– [RTX 50 series] There were reduced idle GPU clock speeds following the GRD 576.02 update. [5232414]
We were already aware of the persistent display issues linked to NVIDIA’s RTX 50 drivers. The newly discovered temperature sensor glitch, however, was particularly bothersome. It involved incorrect GPU temperature readings, especially after the system woke from sleep. For some reason, the sensor seemed to malfunction after temporary power interruptions, causing headaches for many users. Fortunately, the newest hotfix driver seems to have sorted this out, so users can breathe a bit easier for now.
To see if these fixes help you out, you can grab the GeForce Hotfix display driver version 576.15 right here. Check it out to see if it resolves your display crashes or temperature sensor issues.
