Oh, man, you ever get caught up in something a kid’s into and you’re not even sure how it happened? That’s me with this video game update, but let’s just dive in ’cause why not, right? Outright Games seems to think the world needs a new update for Bluey: The Videogame on the Nintendo Switch, and, well, here it is.
So now you can mess around as Muffin, who apparently rules some flamingo kingdom? No clue what that means, but sounds exotic. Her dad Uncle Stripe, who is just way too into squash, joins the chaos. They’re throwing in random stuff like flamingos and rackets. For some reason, maybe someone thought, “Yeah, this needs a flamingo dimension.”
Oh, and that whole Bluey thing—it’s got a major fan base. You know, the cartoon about that bouncy Blue Heeler pup, Bluey, and her little sis Bingo? Apparently, kids can’t get enough of it, which is probably why there’s this whole game universe now. Fascinating, but my head’s spinning thinking about it.
If you’re wondering about the tone, they’ve got the original voices, so Dad Bandit (dude named David McCormack), Mum Chilli (Melanie Zanetti, in case you’re keeping score), all in there, adding a layer of authenticity. They’re saying they nailed Bluey’s world—like, it’s a virtual reality trip, but for kids or anyone who’s curious. Go figure.
Now, here’s the interesting part. They’re tossing in this episodic thing—like mini adventures you can join in. There’s some new story arc, thanks to Artax Games and BBC Studios getting their creative juices flowing together. Must be fun for them, wild ride for players.
Oh, you get to wander around, slow or fast, who cares, it’s up to you. Four players can jump in, cause who wants to game alone, right? The kids can be Bluey, Bingo, and the parental units. Minigames galore—Keepy Uppy, which sounds made up, but sure, and a Magic Xylophone. Doesn’t everyone need one of those?
Unlock stuff—costumes, stickers, whatever tickles your fancy. It’s game on come November 17, 2023. Grab it in stores or snag it from the eShop, totally your call.
And there you go, video game updates from a world I never knew I needed to know about. What a trip.
