Sony. So, you know how every summer they seem to throw a sale? Well, here we go again. They’ve just fattened up their PS Store Summer Sale. More games, more discounts. It’s a thing. And get this, there’s a 2015 action-adventure game that’s a steal right now. Yep, it’s tied to a movie series that everybody raved about once upon a time.
### Mad Max for $4.99 – Yep, You Heard Right
So, Mad Max. Avalanche Studios whipped it up, and Warner Bros. put it out there. And right now, it’s going for a mind-boggling $4.99 on the PS Store. Usually, it’s $19.99. I did the math—75% off. But seriously, if you want in, like, now’s the time. The clock’s ticking. Offer’s out the window on August 14, and don’t ask me about the timing—2:59 a.m. ET? Who decides these things?
“Become Mad Max,” the promo says. You’re this lone warrior, scrambling in a post-apocalyptic mess where cars rule everything. Little tidbit: the game’s about surviving in this chaotic open-world scenario, dodging gangs, and scavenging for stuff to trick out your ride—sounds intense, right? Max is trying to escape this madness. I kinda feel for the guy.
When Mad Max hit the PS4 in 2015, people gave it mixed signals. Metacritic tossed it a 69 out of 100 from 71 critic reviews—what’s up with that? We had it a bit higher in our books, slapped an 8 out of 10 on it.
All in all, I had a blast with it. It tickled my adrenaline bone with all the combat, and the upgrading kept me hooked for a good bit. Yeah, it got a bit samey after a while, but for $4.99, who’s complaining? Few could squeeze out hours of mayhem before it even gets old. Seems worth a shot, you ask me.
