But first, you’re wandering around in Azuma, which wasn’t always a disaster zone. The Kemono, yeah, they weren’t always so ticked off. Something’s gone wrong, and maybe you’ll figure it out?

The game originally hit the PlayStation 5 in 2023, with $69.99 on the price tag if I’m not losing my mind. Now it’s on Nintendo Switch 2, and this version is more like $49.99. It’s got an S tacked onto it — not really sure why, sounds cool though.

If you’ve heard of Monster Hunter, you’ll vibe with this. Plus, there’s this Karakuri tech. Like, you can make crates or gliders. Pretty basic examples, but still! Go all MacGyver and slap together traps or shields. Staying ahead of those Kemono critters is key, man.

Weapons? Oh yeah, tons! Each has its own flair, right? You can even craft gear from hunts, or tweak what you’ve got. And hey, if you get lonely, pull in up to three pals. Locally or online — though for the latter, you gotta cough up for Nintendo Switch Online.

You’ll whip up your character after the intro bit. Tons of options, from face shapes to undergarments (yeah, really). Gear up for battle using the left stick to navigate and the right one for the camera swirl. Your basics like Y and X are standard attack fare, and ZR is for going all-out. Don’t forget to lock onto parts of the enemy with the right stick click — that’s crucial for making serious impact.

Wanna run? Hold R. And jumping’s on B. Sneaking? B again! It’s all about stealth and those sneaky attacks. Oh, and if you’re half-dead, hit up on the D-Pad for healing water. Press left to munch on some grub. Classic adventure stuff.

Karakuri mode’s on L; build stuff by hitting the X, Y, A, and B buttons. Special Karakuri like tents and campfires are handy for fast-travel and survival. You collect Kemono Orbs after hunts, unlocking or upgrading Karakuri. Sometimes though, it’s luck or skill that gets you the best options.

Yeah, it might not look as snazzy as the PS5 version. But hey, more multiplayer slots (shoutout to four-player chaos)! The Karakuri Edition stuff rolls over too — think cosmetic armor sets, extra emotes, the juicy bonuses.

You get all the swag like samurai and ninja cladding. Plus, some lantern thingies and stamps. WILD HEARTS S is up for grabs at $49.99. There’s a demo so you can see if it clicks before pulling the trigger.
