Oh wow, Pokemon TCG Pocket, right? The Eevee Grove set—out for like two weeks, give or take a few days. So, here’s a thing: If you’re not desperately chasing some elusive card for your deck, maybe it’s time to stash those Hourglasses for whatever’s coming next. Something new drops at the end of July. What’s in it? Beats me. Gen 2, Gen 3? Your guess is as good as mine. I do know this: We’re overdue for some killer Fighting cards. Triumphant Light left us hanging, honestly.
Not that Fighting decks are entirely hopeless. They’re just, I dunno, kind of predictable? Two decks make the competitive cut right now, and they’re all about cards from Space-Time Smackdown and Triumphant Light. Seriously, there’s been little evolution there—pun totally intended. Lucario Ex made its splash with Shining Revelry, but it’s not setting the world ablaze. Only Passimian Ex and Lycanroc Ex popped up after that. Rampardos and Garchomp Ex are the go-to champs for Fighting decks at the moment.
Oh, side note—crazy thing to notice, but the Rampardos card, yeah? It was part of Space-Time Smackdown, way back in January 2025. This card’s a beast, and not just in a figurative sense. It’s rocking 150 HP—and if you thought that was nuts, wait for it: 130 damage with one Fighting Energy. Sure, the Head Smash attack does recoil damage, 50 if you really want specifics, but only if it KO’s the other Pokémon. Small price to pay, honestly.
And get this, folks—though it’s a Stage 2 card, you can thank Rare Candy from Celestial Guardians for making that a non-issue. Bam! Rampardos is online and ready to kick some serious tail by the second turn. Partner it with Silvally from Extradimensional Crisis, and you’ve got yourself a firing deck. They call it ‘half-Fighting’ since it’s just Rampardos and Silvally doing their thing. Silvally’s a Normal-type, but who’s splitting hairs here?
Even so, tearing open boosters from Space-Time Smackdown is worth it just for Rampardos and its mighty brethren. But one card, no matter how epic, can’t be the pinnacle of an entire type. We need a new set that throws down something just as groundbreaking if Fighting wants to stay relevant.
Speaking of competition, hold up—Garchomp Ex from Triumphant Light, remember that one? Another high point in the Fighting card saga. 170 HP, two big attacks: Linear Attack and Dragon Claw. It’s like a one-two punch that doesn’t quit. Pair it with Rampardos, and you’re looking at an unstoppable force. Having Lillie heal 60 damage is handy, and if you’ve got Cyrus in your hand, you can yank an opposing benched Pokémon into the spotlight for a swift KO. Tactics, am I right?
Pokemon TCG Pocket: always full of surprises, just like trying to navigate your day without spilling your coffee. Keep an eye out for the next drop. Who knows what curveballs or rare cards will be in that mix?
