In the world of hero shooters, having a wide array of characters is crucial for success, and that’s precisely where Marvel Rivals seems to be hitting a home run. Right from its launch, the game offered players a whopping lineup of 33 heroes and villains hailing from various corners of the Marvel multiverse, showcasing fan-favorites from groups like The Avengers, X-Men, and the Guardians of the Galaxy. The roster has recently expanded to include members of the Fantastic Four, with Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman already in action and the Human Torch and The Thing slated to make their entrance later in Season 1.

Each new season of Marvel Rivals is set to introduce two fresh playable heroes—one appearing at the start and another at the season’s midpoint. If some of the leaks floating around hold any truth, players might be already getting a sneak peek at what lies ahead for the Marvel hero shooter over the next year or even longer.

The moment Marvel Rivals launched its closed Beta in the summer of 2024, dataminers and leakers eagerly dove in, unearthing over 20 potential future heroes rumored to join Marvel Rivals. Similarly, Emma Frost’s capability set also slipped through the cracks, suggesting her development might be near completion.

Blade also emerges as a likely candidate in the lineup, prominently featured in the ongoing Eternal Night Falls seasonal event next to Dracula on a collectible Gallery Card.

There’s speculation that NetEase, the developer behind Marvel Rivals, might be deliberately placing fake files within the game to catch insiders or mislead leakers. If that’s the case, determining which leaked characters are genuine could be a challenge.

Probability also plays a role in predicting which leakers will come to life in Marvel Rivals. More than ten mutants have reportedly been flagged for future placement in the game. Given their prominence in the X-Men universe, there’s a strong chance that at least some, like Cyclops, Jean Grey, Colossus, and Rogue, will make the cut.

The story isn’t quite as clear for the rest of the leaked roster. While popular figures like Captain Marvel and Deadpool seem like obvious selections for post-launch add-ons, more obscure characters, such as Hit-Monkey or Trapster, might not generate the same buzz among fans. However, with niche characters like Jeff the Land Shark experiencing a surge in popularity thanks to Marvel Rivals, it seems any hero or villain stands a chance of joining the game.
