It was one of those days where I stumbled upon, well, something unexpected. Yeah, it’s about this game called Forefront. No idea why they dropped it out of nowhere, but it seems like a VR shooter aiming for chaos. You got these insane 16 vs. 16 battles, which kinda reminds me of those chaotic paintball games where everyone just runs around. Vehicles too – tanks, helicopters, jeeps. Honestly, I’m picturing a scene where someone’s trying to fly the helicopter and ends up swerving like a drunk pigeon.
Triangle Factory’s behind it – they did Breachers, which had this cool, competitive vibe. So, naturally, I’m thinking the gun stuff, the gadgets, they’re probably gonna be top-notch. But really, the scale here is what’s making my brain buzz a bit. Most VR shooters I know, they cap at like 4 vs. 4, maybe 8 vs. 8 if they’re feeling wild. But this? This is like a Thanksgiving dinner with all your relatives and three times as many pets running around.
Anyway — I mean, hang on, what was I saying? Ah right. They just dropped an open alpha. It’s like, “Surprise! Go play it and tell us if it breaks.” It’s happening right now as I type, and then again from August 15th to 17th or something. If you’re curious, their Discord is where the action’s at. I swear, everything’s on Discord these days.
Oh, and it’s gonna be on Quest 2, 3, 3S and Steam. There’s something slightly amusing about those numeric jumps. Like, what’s the 3S all about, anyway? More pixels? Less pixels? Just a name to sound fancier? Anyway, that’s the deal with Forefront, diving headfirst into the VR chaos. Sounds messy, might be fun. Who knows?
