Well, here I sit, pondering the mysteries of why the heck I’m writing this before the Nintendo Switch 2 hits. I mean, should I have done this earlier? Probably. But life’s chaotic, right? Anyway, let’s dive in, shall we?
Remember back in February 2017, right before a system launched? I do—barely. There were like, what, six games for North America? Same for Europe. Fast forward to now, pre-Switch 2 era, and bam! North America’s got six times that, Europe nearly ten times. Japan’s sitting in the 40s… but I couldn’t check, ’cause, you know, region locks. Good times.
So, what’s coming out just before this big Switch sequel? Well, we got the third installment of "Fuga: Melodies of Steel" from CyberConnect2. I mean, if their past games are anything to go by with that "story" button addition, it might be worth exploring. And then there’s Playtonic releasing something cozy in "Cattle Country." Plus, some "Saturn Tribute" stuff like "Steam-Hearts" and "Advanced V.G." I don’t know about you, but I am all over the place here.
Speaking of being all over the place, I totally missed a couple of gems last week. There’s a sequel to "Wilmot’s Warehouse" called—wait for it—"Wilmot Works It Out." And then this solitaire poker thing from Success titled "Ryukyu." Why these slipped by me, I have no clue.
So, North America. What’s the lineup looking like?
- "Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3" – A cool $39.99, for all the RPG lovers.
- "Cattle Country" – Hits Tuesday at $24.99. Cozy, right?
- Tons of other options. There’s "Shikhondo: Youkai Rampage" at $24.99 or "Staffer Case: A Supernatural Mystery Adventure," both ready to mess with your wallet.
And sales? Oh boy, let me tell ya, "Risk of Rain 2" is down 75%. A steal, honestly.
Moving on to Europe:
- Same "Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3" but it’s €39.99 this time around.
- "Cattle Country" again, but slightly cheaper this side of the pond—€24.99 starting Tuesday.
And Europe doesn’t skimp on the choices either.
Then there’s Japan. Man, lots of things on offer but all in yen and, well, wish I could check a little closer. But things like "Fuga: Melodies of Steel 3" at ¥4180 and lots of quirky titles are out there, probably worth a peek if you’re into the scene.
What’s next? Who even knows. Just keep an eye out next week when the big kahuna, the Switch 2, finally lands. Will it change the gaming landscape? Hopefully. Anyway, that’s my bit for now—wait, what was I saying before? Oh, right, gaming chaos! Til next time.
