Alright, so — Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4. Here again, hitting us with that rad nostalgia. Somehow they pulled off remixing two classics — or at least they tried. THPS 4 especially. People loved that thing, you know? Like, seriously loved it. Proud to show it off or something like that. Why did they have to change the Career Mode though? I mean, messed with the whole timer situation, went for this explore-where-you-want vibe. Does that make it better? Some folks swear by it, others… well, they shake their heads like it’s a lost cause.
And then there’re these online modes, and you got animal NPCs now. Not quite sure why we needed those, but hey — maybe it’ll grow on folks. Probably not. But really, let’s talk about Underground for a sec because — whoa. That was a whole different beast. Story galore! It was like skate soap opera or something. If they ever remake that and throw timers all over the place, I might just quit gaming. Call it extreme, but seriously that would ruin what made Underground pop.
Oh, and about the music — 10 songs, can you believe it? Tony Hawk himself spilled the beans: it’s to squeeze in new artists. Cool, I guess. People do dig their playlists. But those old tracks, man, they’re sticky. People remember them like they’re family or something.
Anyway, Underground. Such a trip, right? You could wander around, run, climb, pretty much go rogue. And don’t forget Acid Drop! Flipping everything we knew on its head — storytelling in a skate game! Took guts to do that. Neversoft went for it. Skateboarding, but with stories. Who’d a thunk it? Games are sort of like us, always changing. Little chaos makes it interesting.
But hey, if Underground gets face-lifted, hope they don’t botch it. The story’s the heart, yeah? Like, don’t mess that part up. Could be epic or a disaster. Not sure which yet. Whatever, guess it’s a wait-and-see. Time’ll tell, like it always does.
