Alright, so here’s what I came up with—sort of a random ride through my thoughts on Mario Kart World, or whatever:
—
Alright, folks, let’s jump straight into this: Mario Kart World on the shiny new Nintendo Switch 2. Most of us (me included) have been zipping around for a bit now. It’s like this—you get the Switch 2, dive into Mario Kart World, and suddenly weeks have somehow vanished in the blur of colors and sounds. Does that make sense? Anyway, are your engines still purring, or have you hit the brakes for a snack break?
Here’s the real deal—this is a new Mario Kart, like really new. First one in a decade or something insane like that. Now, with 24 courses—yeah, 24!—you won’t be shoving your way through cramped courses. Nope, they’re vast and lets-you-breathe huge. At least they feel that way, maybe ‘cause I’m still lost on where I’m meant to be going half the time. But seriously, you won’t just fall off the track because Bob in 12th place decided to throw a shell. Sigh.
Okay, so let’s talk multiplayer. Both real-life and screen-life are possible, which is neat. Can I just say how wild it feels playing online? Somehow managed to win a couple of games… Maybe the Kart gods were smiling down at me, who knows. Smooth gameplay, smooth talking—until it isn’t. It’s really fun! You do you, though. I started solo to not embarrass myself right off the bat.
Classic modes? Oh yeah, they’re there. Grand Prix, Time Trials, all the usual suspects. Sure, there’s no 200cc, but 150cc is enough to keep me on my toes. Or wheels? Whatever. The new Knockout Tour mode—now that’s intense. I mean, getting kicked out every few checkpoints if you’re, you know, “not good” kinda vibes. Anyway, blink, and you might actually miss it. Also, “Smart Steering”… why?
So, Battle mode—let’s be real, it feels like it’s on a coffee break. Only Balloon Battle and Coin Runners made it. Just cruising around looking for battles. I miss the good old Mario Kart 64 days. At least give us more, right?
Speaking of “more,” you’ll notice (or miss, like I did) this tiny map icon thing? Lets you explore the areas. Yeah, would’ve been nice if I’d seen it upfront. Maybe Nintendo’s really into this whole Knockout Tour thing? I dunno.
Then there’s Free Roam mode. It’s kinda nice. Chill, if chilling in a Kart is a thing. Day-night cycles, coins and costumes—why not? Almost wanna get out of the kart and just wander around.
Those P Switches though—sadistic, if I’m being honest. Jump here, rail ride there. Some tough cookies, but, hey, we like a challenge, right?
Updates, we need ’em. Like, how about an easy way to track missions, or a better interface so we aren’t scrolling past a gazillion Mario costumes? Stickers are just… there. Frustrating.
Honestly, if they keep adding classic tracks in these P Switch missions, it’d fill the gaps. And the soundtrack? A vibe. Imagine this—having a kart radio while cruising. Playlist of dreams, no?
Tracks though—they’re fun. Just, the connected-ness? Makes it feel like one giant world, sure, but not so much in memorable loops. Reworked tracks are fun, but missing something new. And, like, Choco Mountain only needs so many cameos. At least Toad’s Factory making a comeback. DK Spaceport is a favorite—must unlock DK though. Sigh, always something.
Longtime fans are surely knee-deep in Mario Kart World, finding all the little secrets. New players, this might just be the game that stamps itself in history. Sounds grand, right? Growth is something I’m eagerly watching out for.
Been driving around enough to realize, post-honeymoon, this game’s just gorgeous. It’s fast, slick, and makes me all nostalgic and excited at the same time. Worth the extra cash? Yeah, I’d say so, even if it isn’t packed with stuff yet. With some updates and maybe some much-needed extras, Mario Kart World’s a ride you’ll probably want to take.

There it is—a bit like a kart race in itself, all over the place but with a point by the end.
