Wow, okay, so let me just spill the beans on this new thing called Eldramoor: Haven in the Mist. It’s hitting up Kickstarter next week, and honestly, we’re crossing fingers it fills the void left by Orbus VR—you know, since it bit the dust recently.
Launching June 24th (mark your calendars or don’t, whatever), the folks behind Eldramoor are hoping to snag some serious backing to give life to this VR MMORPG set to pop up on Quest 3 and SteamVR headsets late next year. That’s if all goes to plan, right?
Apparently, this whole idea sprouted from a bunch of ex-Orbus players. They decided in February 2024 to just shrug, say “why not,” and form Resolute Games. Because, yeah, why not pick up where others tripped?
Anyway — wait, hold up — Resolute describes the game like this mystical journey thing where you go to Eldramoor, a place that sounds like a vacation spot, honestly. You follow this legendary dude, Eldranis (sounds heroic, right?) and do all these cool things, like mastering professions or hanging out in a tavern. Mini-games are involved. And oh, spooky! There’s a darkness, apparently. Classic.
You can be a Warrior, Mage, Monk, or Alchemist. Got your dungeons, raids, world bosses—the works. But PvP zones? You bet, three of ’em. And all sorts of stuff like fishing and cooking, though some might not make it in time. Classic overpromise, maybe? Or just flexibility. Who knows.
The funding thing is still a bit of a mystery. No word yet on the tiers or stretch goals. Lynn M. Souza, the CEO, said they’re eyeing a $25,000 starter—kind of like Zenith’s debut goal. Could be doable, I guess.
Now, let’s not sugarcoat it: VR MMORPGs have kinda had rough rides. Orbus VR crumbled earlier this year—RIP—and even Zenith’s creators had to dial things back due to money woes. But then, there’s Ilysia VR, still trucking along post-Kickstarter. Hopeful?
Souza mentioned that Orbus was awesome back in the day, but let’s be real, it was made for the Quest 1 ages ago. Since then, updates? Not so much. When Zenith and Ilysia came out, she was all in, backing both and loving Ilysia’s vibe.
Here’s the timeline, if you’re still interested: We’re looking at Eldramoor dropping in December 2026 for PC VR, Meta Quest 3, and whatever else rolls out. Alpha maybe by the end of 2025, with beta—fingers crossed—by summer 2026.
Want more? Check out the Kickstarter starting June 24th until July 24th. Oh, and you can wishlist it on their live Steam page if you’re into that kind of thing.
