Man, Argath’s disdain for the less fortunate—it’s crystal clear now, isn’t it? No idea why that gets to me, but there it is.
So, there was this Sony State of Play thing (they do these pretty regularly, I guess?), and yep, surprises for the Switch! Who’d have thought? Maybe I wasn’t really paying attention. Anyway, somewhere along the way, a leak spilled the beans about some NVIDIA games, and bam! We’ve got Final Fantasy Tactics making a comeback. I was like, wait, didn’t they drop this in 97 or something? Yep, PlayStation vibes are strong here. Penciled in for a September 30 release. Square Enix came through, saying it’ll hit both the Switch and whatever they’re calling Switch 2. The game’s got this isometric strategy/RPG style happening in the Ivalice world. Kind of cool if that’s your jam. GBA, DS follow-ups, yadda yadda — but hey, first time it pops up on Nintendo stuff. So, that’s new.
Then there’s more for the Switch crew: Digital Eclipse is diving into Mortal Kombat’s bloody legacy with some “kollection.” I mean, who spells it that way? Anyway — first four Mortal Kombat games, right from 1992 to 97, and the “Ultimate” version of 3 all bundled up. Arcade, console — maybe we’ll see a few extras thrown in? Who knows!
And oh, they’ve got a James Bond thing happening. IO Interactive’s behind it, called “007 First Light.” Dropping in 2026, apparently. Made the news back in some April Direct thing. Hmm, maybe I blinked and missed it.
Wrapping it up, there was chatter about another Direct reveal—Everybody’s Golf Hot Shots—coming September 5, and get this, Pac-Man’s hitting the green. I know, right? Pac-Man!
Almost forgot — The Game Kitchen and DotEmu are throwing Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound our way, landing July 31. And the original NES soundtrack legends—Yamagishi, Niita, Nakabai—are back, crafting more tracks. Kind of pumped about the music, to be honest.
So yeah, just a jumble of stuff spinning around my head. Where was I going with this? Ah, forget it.
